…a live script-reading!

On June 18, 2011, cast members of the upcoming film based on Prince of Tennis series read the script of the movie. Those, who found the wait for film screening in September too much to bear, attended the live script-reading to know what the characters are going to do in the film.

Because whatever they are doing is new, and never seen before! Prince of Tennis first came out as a manga, then went onto become a TV anime, and was also made into a film, and now, another film. Many would be wondering what’s left to tell!

There is a lot left, my friends, which is what you will know when you see the film in September, or, thereafter.

Let me tell you more about the event. Script-reading was in the form of a dialogue recording session. The characters were revealed, the plot was communicated, and the story… I will tell you the story!

It’s a new story. The characters you have fallen in love with, are up to a new adventure – a new tournament! The players will be attending a junior tennis tournament in England. It’s going to be big, because the tournament they are heading to is none other than the venerable Wimbledon!

If you watch episodes of Prince of Tennis online, you can’t forget the strong and weak points of your favorite stars. Such traits will definitely find an important place in the story. If you happen to download Prince of Tennis regularly and thoroughly enjoy the same, then you would be familiar with a very special match that took place between Tezuka Kunimitsu and Fuji Shusuke.

In the famous match, Tezuka and Fuji play to determine Seigaku’s number one, in the intraschool rankings.

This match is a very special match in the Prince of Tennis series, because it ends up awakening Fuji’s full potential as a tennis player.

There are flashbacks, which reveal a match between the two players in their initial years, their subsequent friendship, and Tezuka’s injury.

You can catch the Prince of Tennis episodes online, where you would see that Fuji takes an early lead, but the match is far from over, as it intensifies with each shot, gradually beginning to reveal their best moves (Tezuka’s Zero-Shiki Drop/Tezuka Zone and Fuji’s Triple Counters).

Tezuka slowly begins to take the lead and Fuji remembers their first year match, which included the promise of a rematch.

He then realizes that he is afraid of finding out the results of both of them playing to the best of their abilities, and that this is quite possibly the last match they will ever play against each other!

He ends up concluding, that he would regret it later, if he doesn’t play to the best of his abilities.

With this realization, his play gets sharper, and Tezuka comments that the true Fuji has awakened.

In the third episode, titled, ‘The Climax’, Fuji starts playing his hardest; he starts pushing Tezuka back.

With their heart and soul completely immersed in the match, the two play their hardest.

Tezuka finally wins with the Zero-Shiki Drop Shot, with his right hand still in mid-air, leaving everyone surprised!
